The two WINDHOFF catenary and assembly vehicles delivered to the Rhaetian Railway in 1993 were now getting old and should be upgraded with state-of-the-art retrofit measures.
The first vehicle shines after the extensive overhaul in new splendor and was on 21.11. sent back home.
Part of the measures included the complete overhaul of hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical installations, the refurbishment of the complete cabin equipment, a revision of the bogies with replacement of the wheel discs, the installation of a new, larger crane, the increase of the maximum driving speed from 60 to 90 km/h and the installation of a new train protection system.
The second vehicle will be modified accordingly in the next few months.
The entire WINDHOFF team wishes the first rejuvenated vehicle a good time.
