Wheelset turning devices

The wheelset turning device supports visual or metrological inspections, such as checking the fit of the wheel drum or crack testing. It is used to turn wheelsets in the installed state on stationary rail vehicles and can be used in track pits or elevated track systems.
Why our technology convincesThe highlights
  • Optimum access to the wheelsets
  • Compact design
  • Easy handling
  • Transportable and quickly ready to use
Precision meets flexibilityTechnical details

The wheelset turning device is generally used for axle loads of up to 250 kN and a track width of 1,435 mm. The wheels to be tested can have a diameter of 580 mm to 1,250 mm.

Special designs, e.g. other wheel diameters or other track widths, are also possible, and the wheelsets are lifted using extendable and profiled support rollers that are driven by a hydraulic motor. The mobile RSD can be easily moved using rollers that run in the lug chambers of the rail feet.

The extremely flat design makes it possible to drive underneath the traction unit without any profile. Even sand pipes pose no problem, as the claw arms are only 40 mm high for force transmission into the track system.
